Isomaltulose is a natural constituent of honey and sugar cane and has a very natural sweet taste. Isomaltulose is particularly suitable as a non-cariogenic sucrose replacement and is favorable in products for diabetics and prediabetic dispositions.

Like sucrose, Isomaltulose is fully digested and provides the same caloric value of approximately 4 kcal/g. Unlike sucrose, Isomaltulose is toothfriendly and digested much slower leading not only to a low glycemic response but as well to a prolonged glucose supply. Thus, Isomaltulose is a slowly released carbohydrate that therefore provides a more sustained energy supply from food and drinks. An optimal energy supply is a topic of increasing importance in research and product development as this may play a role in health as well as for physical and mental performance.

Isomaltulose is odorless, white, crystalline substance which contains 1 molecular water in it. When losing the water, it dose not appear crystalline shape. Isomaltulose is 42% as sweet as cane sugar and wont change with temperature. Isomaltulose can be used in beverage, candy, cake and vintage industry. Isomaltulose has the same calorie as cane sugar so that it can maintain the peak of blood sugar in a long time. Therefore, Isomaltulose is suitable for athletes and students.

FAQs of Isomaltulose:

Q: How is isomaltulose used in the food and beverage industry?

A: Isomaltulose serves as a natural sugar substitute, incorporated into products such as baked goods, confectionery, soft drinks, and sports nutrition items. Its mild sweetness and excellent solubility allow for smooth integration into formulations, providing stable, slow-release energy.

Q: What benefits does isomaltulose offer compared to regular sugar?

A: Isomaltulose has a low glycemic index, which means it provides steady energy without causing spikes in blood sugar. It is also less likely to promote tooth decay and is suitable for people seeking healthier sugar alternatives, catering to wellness-focused product development.

Q: Where does the raw material for isomaltulose come from?

A: Isomaltulose is derived from sucrose, typically sourced from natural plants such as sugar beet or sugar cane. The final product is manufactured by specialized exporters and suppliers in China, ensuring consistent supply and high standards of purity.

Q: What is the typical process for manufacturing isomaltulose powder?

A: The process involves enzymatic conversion of sucrose to isomaltulose, followed by purification, drying, and packaging. Advanced quality checks ensure the final product meets food-grade standards and achieves 99% purity, suitable for global food and beverage markets.

Q: How should isomaltulose powder be stored to maintain its quality?

A: Isomaltulose powder should be kept in its original, sealed 25 kg HDPE or paper bag, stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Proper storage helps preserve its 2-year shelf life and high level of purity.

Q: When is it optimal to substitute regular sugar with isomaltulose in recipes?

A: It is ideal to use isomaltulose when seeking to lower the glycemic impact of foods or provide a source of prolonged energy release. Its properties suit applications in sports nutrition, functional beverages, and products targeting health-conscious consumers.

Q: What are the key physical and chemical properties of isomaltulose powder?

A: Isomaltulose is a solid white powder, highly soluble in water, with no fat or protein, and delivers mild sweetness. Chemically, it is represented as C12H22O11, ensuring purity levels of at least 99%, which makes it especially valuable for precise food processing needs.
