About 100% Pure Beeswax

100% Pure Beeswax is a substance secreted by the four pairs of wax glands under the bee's belly.

Physical properties:

At room temperature, beeswax is solid, soft, light yellow, yellow or dark brown, with honey and bee pollen-like aroma, chews finely and sticky teeth, no oily smell, greasy by hand and can soften, The refractive index of beeswax is about 1.45, the relative density is about 0.95, the iodine value is 6-13g/100g, the saponification value is 75-110mg/g, the acid value of middle beeswax is 4-9mg/g, and the acid value of western beeswax is 15-23mg /g. The melting point of beeswax is not a fixed value. The temperature range is 62C-67C. When the temperature is 32C-35C, beeswax has plasticity. When the beeswax is extruded, its molecular structure is destroyed and its plasticity is strong. At 40 , although beeswax looks solid, it has actually begun to melt. When heated above 85 , beeswax will fade. Beeswax is insoluble in water, miscible with lipids, oils and other waxes, soluble in many organic solvents such as ether and chloroform, and soluble in alcohol after heating. In addition, natural beeswax has strong plasticity, good lubricity, and has the advantages of insulation, moisture resistance, and avoiding surface erosion. These excellent characteristics provide the possibility of application in various fields.

Chemical properties:

Regardless of how beeswax is classified, the chemical components are roughly the same, but the content of each chemical component is different. It has been found through research that Beeswax is composed of more than 300 compounds. The main chemical components include: esters (70%-72%) formed by alkanols and alkanoic acids, free fatty acids (14%-15%), and mainly saturated hydrocarbons of hydrocarbons (12%), including some free fatty alcohols, water and minerals, as well as small amounts of flavonoids, vitamins, pigments, etc. Xu Jingyao and others found that the content of monolipids in middle beeswax reached 54.0%, which was lower than that of western beeswax; the ester content formed by palmitic acid and triosyl alcohol was 21%; the hydrocarbon content of middle beeswax was higher than that of western beeswax; The free acid of beeswax is also lower than that of western beeswax. The emergence of gas liquid chromatography allows us to accurately and quantitatively detect the chemical composition of beeswax.

Application:

  • In the cosmetics manufacturing industry, many beauty products contain beeswax, such as bath lotion, lipstick, rouge, etc.;
  • In the candle processing industry, beeswax can be used as the main raw material to manufacture various types of candles;
  • In the pharmaceutical industry, beeswax can be used to manufacture the shell of dental casting wax, base wax, sticky wax, and pills;
  • In the food industry, it can be used as food coating, packaging and outerwear, etc .;
  • In agriculture and animal husbandry, it can be used to make fruit tree wood wax and pest adhesive;
  • In the beekeeping industry, nest bases and wax bowls can be manufactured.

FAQs of 100% Pure Beeswax:

Q: How should 100% Pure Beeswax be stored for maximum shelf life?

A: Store beeswax in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to ensure its quality and extend its shelf life to three years. Vacuum-sealed or polybag packaging further protects it from moisture and contamination.

Q: What are the main benefits of using beeswax in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals?

A: Beeswax acts as a natural moisturizer, forming a protective barrier on the skin and helping to lock in hydration. Its hypoallergenic nature minimizes skin irritation, making it suitable for use in ointments, lip balms, and creams.

Q: Where can this beeswax be applied beyond cosmetics?

A: Beyond cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, this beeswax is commonly used in candle making for its clean-burning properties and in the food industry for coating and preserving foods, as well as in artisanal crafts.

Q: What is the process for melting and preparing beeswax for use?

A: Beeswax should be gently heated to its melting point of 6265C. Avoid overheating or open flame; instead, use a double boiler or controlled heat source to ensure safety and retain quality.

Q: Is this beeswax suitable for individuals with allergies?

A: Yes, our beeswax is hypoallergenic, significantly lowering the risk of allergic reactions. It is an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin or allergy concerns.

Q: How is the purity and quality of your beeswax ensured?

A: Each beeswax block contains less than 0.5% impurities and adheres to strict cosmetic and pharmaceutical grade standards. It is exported in vacuum-sealed or polybag packed slabs directly from China, ensuring top-quality delivery.

Q: What forms and weights does your beeswax come in?

A: Our beeswax is supplied in solid blocks or slabs, each weighing approximately 1 kg, designed for convenient handling and diverse applications.
